TimberRent / Privacy
Identity verification privacy notice
Effective July 25, 2026
Why we verify
Wiklund Properties, operating TimberRent, verifies the direct-booking holder’s identity to prevent fraud, protect guests and properties, and confirm who receives private addresses and access codes.
Stripe as our provider
We use Stripe Identity. Stripe may collect images of the front and back of your government ID, information shown on it, facial images if a selfie comparison is enabled, advanced fraud signals, device information, and cookies. Stripe requests applicable biometric consent inside its flow.
What TimberRent receives
Our system stores the session identifier, verification status, consent date and version, and error codes needed to assist you. We don’t download or store copies of your ID images, facial images, or extracted identity data in our booking database. Authorized administrators may review the result in Stripe when necessary for fraud, support, or compliance.
Retention and deletion
Stripe retains data according to its terms and our account configuration. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting the host through the guest portal. We’ll evaluate the request and use Stripe’s deletion tools when legally appropriate. Minimal records may be retained for fraud, payment disputes, tax obligations, or legal claims.
Alternative process and minors
If you can’t or don’t want to use Stripe Identity, request an alternative review from your guest portal. The host will contact you; approval isn’t automatic. Verification must be completed by the adult booking holder. Don’t use this process for anyone under 18.
Questions
Message the host through the guest portal associated with your booking. This securely keeps your request connected to the correct stay.
